Limited Inspiration
I've never worked so hard in my life at a job. I find this leaves me with fewer creative reserves than usual but I defy the corporate creativity thief! It can have my left brain, but not my right.
Here are five things that make me happy and still give me a little right brain buzz:
I want this for Christmas

And this (looks like corporate has made me very greedy indeed).
"This bookshelf called Hold On Tight by Colleen & Eric took my breath away. It comes with an integrated bookend (a cube with an oversized wing-nut that you can loosen and slide on a track to make room for more books). It’s minimal and brilliant. Make that cube white or red and I am in heaven." –Swiss Miss
Love love love love love, I would kill to design like this:
Our dog, Daisy needs one of these.

Tea Time—Nine Great Things Friday
Design in action; can you even believe how awesome these ideas for tea bags are?
You've probably seen the Forte tea products unless you've been hiding under a rock somewhere/haven't been dragged to a girly store by your Mom lately, but they have a great little pyramid shape to their tea bags. However, the rest of these are even more fun, if you ask me, and don't require you to buy a tea cup with a hole in the middle of it (though I recognize the brilliant marketing of making the customer buy the tea and its accompanying special cup).
My favorite is the "T" bag. Brilliant, it's simpler than many of the others, but I love me a play on words.
The one with the repeller guy reminds me of my friend Alison.

Monday Must Haves
Better than a spork.
My new thing is owls and this is my favorite girly color ever so this t-shirt is epic to me.
Well this is brilliant! I like to think even I could handle nailing a couple rustic, wire baskets to the wall and filling them with fresh towels. I also just love pile and piles of fresh towels/linens.
Brings a whole new meaning to "climbing the walls"—WANT!

Five Great Things Friday: I Want Candy!
One of my new year's resolutions is to be more playful, even in decorating! I love all five of these not-too-expensive, candy-colored ideas. Feel free to comment on which one you think is best (or worst) and enjoy!:
1) These decorative hexapods just make me happy. I would take a slab of plexiglass and put it over the tops of them to make little tables (I could even strap the plexiglass on through the bars of the pod with brightly colored yarn). I even thought of hanging them from a hook from the ceiling (taking it a step futher, I could hang a bulb in the middle of them and cover the outside with tissue for a soft glow)...the possibilties are endless!
2) It's no pipedream, these industrial-chic vases can be a cheap DIY project! Go to Apartment Therapy to find out how.
3) I imagine the warm glow this would give a room and it's a nice pop of color for just $17. Comes in other colors and patterns.
4) I've broken a lot of glass in my life so I swear by acrylic tumblers in my kitchen. Mine have been with me for over two years now though, so when it comes time to upgrade, I'll head to Target and get one of these lovelies, just $20 for a set of six:

You stick foil, waxed paper, cellophane in each of the two compartments and the pantry queen will cut it for you with her razor-sharp teeth. I love the creamy, avocado color too. For $30, it's not so bad. Keep shopping Etsy.com and support artists!
5) Still too steep? For those of us who are totally broke after the holidays (I'm with ya), how about a free, up-cycle project? Find out how you can make a pretty cheap, pretty cute table covering!

Five Great Things Friday
My cheap $10 earbuds look like a chihuahua got to them and outright unsafe as the plastic bits are clumping off (let's hope not in my ear!) so I went online to try to find a quality pair for cheap and here are some of the fun earbuds I found:
1)
Ah-dorable, I'm totally digging this tongue-in-cheek set (I wonder if the angel side is louder??).
2)
Too punky for me, but I do love these.
3)
Will these make my ears fat?
4)
I am LOVIN' these! But at $52 a pop, they're over my budget by about $32. I like these best, but I wouldn't say no to...
5)...these! YES PLEASE! For someone who doesn't have pierced ears, I'm thinking some genuine diamond ear bling is still within reach thanks to these babies.
Here's another pair, these would cost $3k...small price to pay for music, right? Sure.

Five Great Things Friday...Early
1) I think these are simultaneously hilarious and gross.
"Bacon...Mother Nature's Remedy"
2) This is the only kind of Rubik's cube I would ever play with, the real deal drives me bananas—but as pepper mills, they're brilliant.
3) No one will ever steal your sandwich again when they're in these bags!
4) Gahahahaha, this is hilarious! I love this and I would totally give it as a gag gift or at a white elephant party! (Look at the note the guy is writing in the picture)
5) Be kind to animals, I want to get this for my next apartment and hang my jewelry from it.

Five Great Things Friday
So I missed last week, but that just gave me extra time to find five great things!
1) I love this idea, after having white walls for so long (which have served me well), in my next space I'm looking forwad to splashing brilliant colors on my walls and perhaps investing in some great decals like these.
2) I'm obsessed with Fiesta ware; the great colors with the retro shapes make me very happy. I want this little creamer (no sugar bowl needed...I don't take sugar with my coffee!).
3)
Shifting to something more refined, I love this idea for a necklace.
4)
These shoes speak for themselves. Super cute, handmade flats.
5)I will own a typewriter someday. It's like a computer sans distractions. Envision this little cutie on a desk with fresh flowers, a cup of coffee, a dictionary/thesaurus and me writing (no cell phones or internet necessary).
